Provo 43, Cottonwood 30
7:00 pm. 2nd regular season game, played at home
Commentary:
It was all Provo until the very end of the 1st half when we got quite a scare. Cottonwood scores 3 touchdowns in the last 1:43 of the first half - mostly from Provo mistakes, and we close the half Cottonwood 23, Provo 20
In the second half Provo almost immediately scores again, and the bulldogs are clearly fired up and not dead yet.
We saw incredible performances from Warner Jarman and Austin Alder which were made possible by the awesome play of the O-Line. Tay saw some action carrying the ball, and did well, but he truely shone on defense.
Defensively Taylor had a great game, but Cottonwood didn't go to his side much (could it be that they watched some tape from the Timpanogos game?) but he was very effective when they did come his way. Lot's of pressure on the QB, several tips and some great tackles rounded out his game, and the rest of the defense also was great, Laws, Larsen, the Trammells, Pope and the rest were in top form.
Stats:
Jarman rushed for 171 yards on 15 attempts, scoring three touchdowns, while Alder ran for 116 yards on 17 attempts, scoring two touchdowns, including an 85-yard kickoff return.
The Bulldogs finished with 331 yards of total offense, all on the ground. Provo was 0-1 passing.
